Many of our schools will honor the brave men and women who have served our country with special Veterans Day assemblies in early November. There will be no school on Wednesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

Regular school attendance is one of the most important factors in a student's academic success. When students attend school consistently, they are more likely to stay engaged in learning, build strong relationships with teachers and classmates, and stay on track academically.

This year’s fall teacher conferences will be held during the week of October 25. Tuesday, October 27 through Friday, October 30, are half-day early release for elementary, middle, and high schools. Human Growth and Development is taught each year during 5th and 6th grade and Sexual Health will be taught in 7th, 8th and 9th grade. Families are invited to attend a Tuesday, November 17, webinar to learn about the health standards, activities and resources that will be used to teach each of the topics, and the opt-out process. Attendance matters. Every day a student is in school is an opportunity to learn, build relationships, participate in classroom experiences, and develop skills that support future success.
